Hometown: Erlangen, Germany
Education: PhD Physics (2007), Technical University of Dresden, Germany;
Physics Diploma (2004), University Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany
Current Reseach Topic: Terahertz resonances in semiconductor nanostructures, strongly THz-driven quantum systems, ultrafast electron dynamics in semiconductor heterostructures
Hobbies and Interests: Spending as much time as possible outside: surfing, cycling, visiting the many parks and beaches of Santa Barbara with my family and friends, music, traveling
About me: I joined the Sherwin group as a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in fall 2007 and since then I have enjoyed the relaxed and inspiring atmosphere here at UCSB. Currently my research is focused on new nanostructures for THz applications as well as strongly AC driven quantum systems such as quantum wells by use of the FEL facility here. Besides the great opportunities on campus, I enjoy the many possibilities for outdoor activities.
